Ps 136 1 - 26
David is not author, Hezikah is. Mercy is what God desires to do for us to pour out his love for us. And this is forever.
135 and 136 are sister Psalms by Hezikah. 120 -134 are Psalms of degrees. These are a good ending to them. They contain information about creation, Israel, wisdom of worshiping the true God.
1. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
God is a good God. He wants to show his goodness to us, not strike us down. Leave it in His hand. God can turn cursing into blessing. We do not need to know how, just that he will.
2 O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.
We serve the God of Gods. We see terrorism in name of Islam, God is up to the challenge. He did this for Moses with Pharaoh, as well as Elijah at Mt Carmel.
3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Here we talk of Jesus. He is the Lord of Lords.
4 To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever.
No matter what great things happen in your life, God is the one that brings it to pass. God is the one.
